Off again...

Wednesday 15th September 2010: Annecy FR to St Hilaire FR:
We set our alarm for 7am this morning, as we wanted to make the most of the day. At 8.10am, still asleep, we both laughed as our plan, had obviously not worked. My cold is well and truly here and I feel is going to be an unwelcomed guest over the Flying Festival we are going to.

We leave today and stop on our way as the Pilot wants to try and catch some fish for supper. He has a ‘spoon’ hook, which when he pulls it through the water it looks like a wee fish and it may entice another fishy to eat it. No luck as yet though.

The drive is picturesque, that is until we get to the winding roads. Its nothing like the roads from Italy though, so that’s ok. We get here and realise that everyone is setting up. It’s good we came a day early; at least we can pick our parking spot before everyone comes to crowd us in. We park next to an English couple and they tell us that they have been here before and that as long as the weather holds out, it should be good. I am excited and all I want to do is try and find a whirly wind thing to blow. Not sure I will be allowed to buy one though!

We unwind the awning, the first time since we have been away and get the chairs and tables out for outside. We also attach the two flags we have to the fishing rod and they wave about in the wind proudly! The field is empty and I try to imagine what it will be like when it is packed. I am glad for the space though and we settle in for the night to prepare ourselves for the festivities and watch a movie.
